i'm blogging cos kx threatened me to :O
heh no lah, just want to blog. realised i haven't been online for ages!
this morning i woke with my whole body aching (i think i'm getting old!! :(( ) and i didn't feel like getting up at all, but i couldn't get back to sleep either :/ still feeling tired now, so i have resolved to sleep at ten today :D
agree with kx's older post about being busy and no time to rest. no wonder people say that we should be grateful about schooling life. but i guess some things we gotta experience on our own to know what it really feels like.
had 4/4 potluck ytd! :D
we "bid farewell" to ying xian and celebrated yi ting's birthday in advance!
we surprised yi ting by suddenly switching off the lights (while she was in the midst of mahjong) and brought out her lighted cake. but then we forgot to swtich off the fan so when alfred walked past, the candles went out! so we went back and repeated everything again, this time with the fan switched off :X
haha and we sang "byebye to you" for ying xian! the song very stupid!! and sorry yingxian for the slightly smudged photos :(
and in the end we didnt manage to carry out our plans for the candles downstairs :(

anyway i'm super happy that cny finally arrived!
dont get me wrong ok, i'm not excited abt cny just cause of ang baos. (though it is a plus point)
because of cny, this week was a super short week and i like!
short week equals to lesser working time. its not that i dislike my job, but i rather do alot of other things than work (like playing viva pinata) :X yay i'm quite happy cause i managed to surpass my bro! but i think he'll overtake me soon heh. lao-ed yu sheng today with cooked salmon :/ (i think its nicer raw!) ohyah also lao-ed during nan hua alumni bbq haha! lol the afterwards was more fun than the event.
anyway my BTT is this wed :O
super fast! i hope i pass, cause if i fail it is compulsory to retake lessons and evaluation. the thought of going through all that again makes me wanna zzzzzzzz. but after i pass (if i do), i can actually sit behind the wheel and drive! :D though only in the driving centre -.- haha but still quite exciting.
heard that A level results coming out 2nd week of Feb, which is actually REALLY soon. i always thought it would come out on March, which is still quite far? i just realised its Feb alrd :X
am going to catch up on reading these few days because i found out that i have alot of unread books in my room that i never got down to reading.
cny isnt even over yet and i owe money alrd oh no!
haha i'm starting mini project no.2 which means i need to get materials. but money no enough so waiting for pay to come which is soon! :D dont think i'll get alot cause i didnt really work much, plus my shifts were very sparse esp towards the end.
cant wait for btt to be over, supper, friday's dinner and 7th! :D

anyway went out with ckx cause i owe her an xmas card which is waaay overdue. sorry kx! :X went to eat pepper lunch & the service there is superb i tell you. the waitress put the plate on our table and found that our table was shaky, and she helped us adjust it. and we didnt even know it was wobbly or anything and she just did it out of her own accord! i think such service is hard to come by in singapore, really.
cant stand those people who show black faces while serving you. if you dont want to or dont enjoy serving then quit pls. find another job where you dont affect other people with your unhappiness or that you actually enjoy.
just had bdp not too long ago and i didnt do very well. lucky no need to retake or anything if not i'd just be wasting my time. we booked wrongly cause supposed to have lessons first before the practice but haha. just realised tmr there's lesson. haha its like going back to school!
and i think i got a job! "i think" because i still have to try out and all that, which i'll be doing for the next few weeks. guess what job? :D waitressing! okay lah i figured i can always quit and try something else before july next year. just try for the experience and see how? then i can say that i've done actual waitressing cause the catering one didn't really have much serving to do. not that it wasn't an interesting experience, its just different? and the getting a job thing was super impromtu cause i didn't even plan to find one today.
anyway bangkok trip was fun, will upload pics next time :)

anyway will be flying to bangkok tmr and come back on the 31st.
rather :/ cause there's still politics going on there so i really hope we'll have a safe trip.
went to renew passport with my mom cause ours was near expiry date (my passport's tagged to hers) so went to ICA building.
impt buildings like these seriously ought to be located in a more central place, like maybe the CBD cause it is all the way at lavender! okay lah, it's convenient for those staying at the east but i stay at like the opposite side of SG :/
which thankfully, is not very far apart cause we're only a small red dot.
the new passport's quite cool! there's this hard cover. and actually ICA is super efficient :)
went there quite early, around 8+? and we had to queue to get in! its like trying to buy collectable hello kitties from macdonalds (except the queue moved MUCH faster). we queued all the way to the back of the building. actually they quite smart, cause this way can screen the people going in and also prevent mad rush, like those you see when you try to get a seat in je library when the doors open.
had xmas dinner too on christmas eve, and i realised that xmas kinda lost its festivity.
maybe cause we've all grown up :(
i rmb last time christmas used to be this fantastic holiday that i'd really look forward to. i used wake up real early on xmas to rush down my bed and open presents under the tree (without brushing teeth :X)
yah i really think its cause we've grown up.
i rmb my bro and i used to find those automated car washes at petrol staions realy fascinating, haha!
my dad would bring us to go for car washes on sundays, and me and my bro would plaster our faces to the windows cause we were so amazed by the big green stringy stuff that would swipe against the windows, and it always ended with the weird looking black watering can thing for drying purposes which made really weird sounds.
the memory is still quite vivid in my mind, haha!
by the way i've signed up for driving.

actually i think i should have taken auto instead cause it isnt only easier and faster, but there's not many manual cars nowadays! like those being produced are auto, so knowing manual doesn't really matter.

developed throat infection from the flu, so now am on antibiotics :(

the person hasn't gotten back to me, which is kind of lucky cause i wouldnt be able to do anything in this state, but i need to find one real soon!
i'm pretty much done with enjoying the holidays already.
and actually, volunteering doesn't seem like a bad idea.
there's so much i wanna do!
i wanna learn driving, maybe take up music lessons, go for sat, get a job/volunteer, and the list goes on.
but it's okay cause i've got till july next year :D :D :D
and i can't believe that we're in the middle of december already!
i kinda lost track of time after A's.
and before you know it, it'll be x'mas, new year, cny, etc.

if we count our blessings we'll find that we have so much to be thankful for, and that we really shouldn't be complaining. relative to extreme cases, we're definitely much better off.
we start to appreciate what we have/had, only when it's gone, which is sad really.
cause by then it'll be too late.

prom is over and i guess it'll be the last time we'll see some of our schoolmates.

caught quarantine and it was.. not what i'd expected. it's scary in the boo! kinda way but not those that you'd be haunted by. thought it was quite bad actually so i dont know why they even bother remaking it from rec.

on our last paper s31 went to eat ljs and play bball, kind of got sunburnt.
played a little bit of badminton too and my arms are aching from it :(

oh ytd ate at sakae with the clique.
the last time i went sakae people tried stuffing a spoonful of wasabi into their mouths.
it was a very.. interesting experience?

i'm gonna get a job during the 8 mth long holiday but i havent really decided what i kind yet.
i dont know why but i want to try waitressing.
i've wanted to try since i dont know when, even though the pay isnt that great and the work is quite tough.
my mom's asking me to go do data entry which i think is dead boringgggg but the pay is not bad.
and is the recession really that bad?

yes, i'm that dumb to drink it at night when i know that it may affect my sleep -.-
this is going to be a long post cause i'm feeling kinda talkative right now (not that i'm really talking), so.. brace yourselves?
after tossing and turning for a little over an hour, i decided to use the computer instead.
it's quite frustrating to do nothing for one whole hour, knowing that your time can be better spent doing other more productive things.
i'm not saying that blogging is productive though.
i just want to
while trying to get to sleep, i tried to think of songs to (dont laugh!) erm, lullaby myself to sleep.
i didn't sing it out okay!
anyway the lyrics from seize the day came to my head.
it goes something like: "seize the day or die regretting the time you lost, its empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over."
the part i want to point out is the phrase in bold.
i guess it's really true, (though a bit exaggerated cause we're kinda young to talk about death)
but who knows when their time is coming? choy lah, i don't wanna die early but still cannot deny that there is a possibility.
as i was saying, you really got to seize the day or you'll have to live with it. i think it really applies now- jc life.
study hard to get good results, if not you'll regret for the rest of your life. because your results weren't good enough to get into a good uni (if i get into one at all, CHOY CHOY CHOY!) and you'll end up with a not-so-good job due to lower qualifications. okay i know that "not getting into uni = lousy job" is stereotyping, and may not be true all the time. and there are inspirational stories of people who only had O level qualifications and are now some of the richest people in singapore. but these people have something that others don't, like entreprenuership or creativity or what not. and if you're not lucky enough it may not happen to you.
heck, even graduates from uni with good qualifications are unable to get a decent job now.
all this is getting quite depressing actually so i'm going to stop here -.-
the bottom line is, study hard people! you don't want live regretting.
so don't wait anymore, SEIZE THE DAY! :)
btw the song is by avenged sevenfold and it's a really nice song! heh.
anyway, 4/4 chalet was fun :D
didn't stay overnight though, as much as i'd like to.
i would have, given different circumstances but yah.

okok i know this june holiday isn't going to be much of a holiday (with extra lessons and studying and all),
but it still beats having to wake up in the unearthly wee hours of the morning when the sun isn't even up yet.
and this week was a really tough one, with econs mid years on wed, maths vectors on thurs and gp ct today. lucky we didn't have content quiz today. and omg our gp teacher gave our whole class pilot G2 0.7 pens for our gp ct! a pleasant surprise and quite thoughtful of him :)
anyway i'm really glad this week is over :)
many teachers spoke to our class this week about our conduct, and i feel that what some of them say is true. we really need to wake up already, only a few months left to prelims then A's and very soon it'll all be over. and i don't want to regret. i don't think anyone wants to either, so lets buck up and pull our socks up together :D

really need a break. whole week got tests, and on top of that stayed over for o2.
next week got tests again! somemore mostly content based. i think my brain will explode from memorising stuff :(
and super depressing, our teachers kept scolding us this whole week.
i bet they discussed about our class and came to the conclusion that we are getting from bad to worse. so they nag, and scold, and nag again. zzzz.
today did PW display board aft school and i like our board! :D

The Policy of Appeasement.
For those who studied history, I think this may be quite familiar.
For those who didn't, the following paragraph kind of sums it all up.
The policy of appeasement was about how the British and French (the Allies) kept giving in to Hitler's demands.
The Allies appeased Hitler by giving him what he wanted.
They thought that he would be satisfied and contented once they gave in, and Hitler would not create further trouble.
But the exact opposite happened.
You see,
Human nature causes us to be greedy, and along with this greed and a boosted morale, Hitler decided to make more demands, as he knew that the Allies would continue to give in.
Appeasement led Hitler to believe that the Allies would not oppose his expansionist policies.
So basically to sum it all up, appeasement was a BIG GIGANTIC mistake.
PLUS it sucks cause it doesn't work. (well, most of the time)
People study History so that we would not repeat the mistakes that our ancestors have made.
We read about the past so that we can learn from their mistakes.
I, for one, as an ex-History student, ought to have learnt something from this mistake.
But I don't know why, appeasing just seems to be so much more of a better choice.

i feel so much more bonded to the council
most of us were alone in a foreign country, so we spent loads of time together
and i must say, it was fun!
though we got scolded at times, i am really grateful to be given the opportunity to go for this trip =)
i wanted to do personal shoutouts to all my fellow councillors but i decided to write notes instead. so all in all, i want to thank my councillors, siya and wei wei for EVERYTHING they've done. for their support, for their fun, for their company, for their laughter and joy, for their cooperation and lastly, for going through thick and thin together.
not forgetting the fantastic four which stayed behind and did loads and loads of work for aces day, national day etc: desmy cherie grace and shengyong! you guys were missed and thought of throughout the trip =)

someone made a story with the numbers 1-10 in ascending order,
then continued the story in descending order :D
1 day I go 2 climb a 3 outside a house to peep.
But the couple saw me,
so I panic and 4 down.
The man rushed out and wanted to 5 with me.
I ran until I fell 6 and threw up.
So I go into 7 -eleven and grabbed
some 8 to throw at him
Then I took
a 9 and try to stab at him.
10 God he run away.
10 I put the 9 back and pay for the 8 and left 7-eleven.
Next day I called my boss and told him I was 6 .
He said 5, tomorrow also no need to come back 4 work.
